How to watch IPTV on a Samsung or LG smart TV

You can watch IPTV on a Samsung or LG smart TV without buying a streaming stick. The app installs straight from the TV’s own app store, and you add your Streamori playlist from a phone or a computer.

Samsung TVs run Tizen and LG TVs run webOS, so the apps you may know from Android, such as TiviMate, are not available on them. Three apps from our setup guides work on both: IBO Player, Smart IPTV and Set IPTV.

Which IPTV apps work on Samsung and LG TVs

We list IBO Player first because it also runs on Fire TV Stick and Android TV. If you have a smart TV in the living room and a stick in the bedroom, you can use the same app in both rooms.

Whichever app you pick, its licence is a separate purchase from the developer. Your Streamori plan and price don’t change.

How these apps work

TV remotes are slow for typing long addresses, so these apps skip that part. When you open the app, it shows a MAC address, which is an identifier for your TV inside the app. You then go to the developer’s website on your phone or computer, enter that MAC address and paste the M3U link from your welcome email. The next time the app starts, your channels are there.

Your M3U link starts with http:// and contains your username. Copy it from the email rather than typing it.

How to install IBO Player on a Samsung or LG TV

  1. On a Samsung TV, press Home and open Apps. On an LG TV, press Home and open the LG Content Store (called Apps on newer TVs).
  2. Search for IBO Player and select Install.
  3. Open IBO Player. Write down the MAC address and the device key shown on screen.
  4. On a phone or computer, go to iboplayer.com, choose Manage playlists and log in with the MAC address and device key.
  5. Select Add playlist. Name it Streamori, paste the M3U link from your welcome email and save.
  6. Restart IBO Player on your TV and open the Streamori playlist.

How to set up Smart IPTV instead

  1. Install Smart IPTV from Apps (Samsung) or the LG Content Store (LG).
  2. Open it and write down the MAC address shown on screen.
  3. On a phone or computer, go to siptv.app and open My List.
  4. Enter the MAC address, paste your M3U link and select Send.
  5. Restart Smart IPTV on your TV. Your channels appear.

Set IPTV works the same way, on setiptv.com, under Upload my list.

When a streaming stick makes more sense

If your TV is old and its app store does not offer any of these apps, a Fire TV Stick or an Android TV box plugged into an HDMI port is the simplest fix. It also gives you TiviMate, which loads your login in the Xtream Codes format. Our guide to the best IPTV apps for Fire TV Stick covers that setup.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find the MAC address?

It is on the first screen when you open the app. Write it down exactly, with the colons.

My playlist does not appear after I send it. What should I do?

Close the app completely and open it again: the playlist loads when the app starts. Then check that the MAC address on the website matches the one on your TV. If it still does not work, message us on WhatsApp and we check it with you.
